Epiglass

Terms of Service

These terms govern use of Ops OS, the service Epiglass operates at app.epiglass.ai. Ops OS reads a business's existing systems — its accounting books, bank and card accounts, mail and files, point of sale, payroll — into one place, and writes back to the books only when a member of that business approves. By creating an account, connecting a system, or using the service, you agree to these terms on behalf of the business you represent.

Version 1.3, effective October 21, 2026. Questions: legal@epiglass.com.

1. Who may use the service

Ops OS is for businesses. You must be at least 18 and authorized to bind the business you sign up for. The person who creates a company in Ops OS is its owner and is responsible for who else is invited and what role each is given. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for everything done under your account.

2. Connecting your systems

You connect systems by authorizing them yourself, on their own screens: your accounting system, your bank through Plaid, your mail and files through Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, your point of sale, your payroll provider. By connecting a system you confirm you are permitted to grant that access for the business, and you authorize us to read from it as the [Privacy and Consumer Data Rights Policy](/privacy) describes.

Company-wide mail. When an administrator grants company-wide mail access, the grant reaches every mailbox in the domain, but Ops OS reads none of them until an owner of the company opts a mailbox in on the roster page. You are responsible for telling your team that their work mailboxes may be read, as your own policies and the law where you operate require.

Writing to your books. Ops OS never changes your accounting records on its own. Every change is proposed, shown to a member with the records it rests on, and made only after that member approves it, and every approval is recorded. You remain responsible for your books and for reviewing what is written to them.

You may disconnect any system at any time. Disconnecting removes our access and deletes the data that came through it, as the privacy policy describes.

3. Your data

The business owns its data: everything that comes through a connected system, everything members upload, and everything they approve. You grant Epiglass a license to store, process, and display that data only to provide the service to you, to keep it secure, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell your data and do not use it to train models. We may derive aggregate statistics that do not identify any business or person.

You are responsible for having the right to give us the data you connect, including any information about your employees, customers, and vendors that your systems hold.

4. What the service is, and is not

Ops OS organizes, checks, and presents your business's information, and points out where things do not agree — a charge with no receipt, a deposit that did not arrive, a bill coming due. It is a tool for you and your advisors. It is not accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice, and nothing it shows replaces the judgment of a qualified professional. Figures come from your connected systems and from the models we run over them; they can be wrong, late, or incomplete, and each is shown with where it came from so you can check it.

5. Acceptable use

You will not use the service to break the law, to access data you are not authorized to access, to interfere with the service or others' use of it, to probe or circumvent its security, or to build a competing service from it. You will not connect a system you do not have authority over. We may suspend an account to protect the service or other customers, and will tell you why.

6. Third-party services

The service depends on providers we do not control: Plaid for bank connections, Clerk for sign-in, Google and Microsoft for mail and files, Intuit for QuickBooks, our hosting and infrastructure providers, and the AI model providers named in the privacy policy. Your use of those systems through Ops OS is also subject to their terms. If a provider changes or withdraws access, parts of the service may stop working, and we will tell you.

7. Fees

Fees, if any, are set out in the order or agreement between Epiglass and your business. A pilot or trial may be free for the period we agree. Fees are not refundable except as that agreement says or the law requires.

8. Term and ending the service

These terms apply while you have an account. You may stop using the service and delete your company at any time; we may end the service for a business with 30 days' notice, or immediately for a material breach of these terms. When the service ends, we delete the business's data on the schedule in the privacy policy and our data retention policy, keeping only what the law requires us to keep and the record of approvals members made.

9. Confidentiality

Each of us will protect the other's confidential information with at least the care we use for our own, use it only for the purposes of the service, and share it only with people who need it and are bound to keep it confidential. Your business data is your confidential information.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Epiglass makes no warranties, express or implied, including of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, and does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that figures drawn from your systems are accurate or complete.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither Epiglass nor you will be liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from the service. Epiglass's total liability for all claims arising from the service in any twelve-month period will not exceed the fees you paid for the service in that period, or one hundred dollars if you paid none. These limits do not apply to a party's breach of Section 9, to its indemnity obligations, or to liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Epiglass against claims arising from data you connected or uploaded without the right to do so, or from your use of the service in breach of these terms. Epiglass will defend and indemnify you against claims that the service itself infringes a third party's intellectual property, provided you tell us promptly and let us control the defense.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will tell members by email or in the service at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continued use after that date is acceptance. Earlier versions are available on request.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before either of us starts a legal action, we will each try in good faith to resolve the dispute with the other for 30 days. Any action will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Norfolk, Virginia, and each of us consents to their jurisdiction.

15. General

These terms, the privacy policy, and any order or agreement between us are the entire agreement about the service. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stands. Neither of us may assign these terms without the other's consent, except to a successor in a merger or sale of substantially all assets. Notices to Epiglass go to legal@epiglass.com; notices to you go to the owner's email on file.

16. Text messages

Program. Epiglass Ops OS alerts and assistant. Members who opt in can text our number to ask about their business and send photos of receipts, and receive alerts about their business, such as a charge missing a receipt, a deposit that did not arrive, or a filing coming due, and replies to what they asked.

Opting in. Texting is off until you turn it on in Ops OS by entering your mobile number, confirming the code we send it, and checking the box agreeing to receive texts. Consent is not a condition of using Ops OS or of any purchase. You may opt in only for a mobile number that is yours.

Frequency and cost. Message frequency varies with your business's activity and what you ask. Message and data rates may apply.

Stopping and help. Reply STOP to cancel at any time; we will send one message confirming you are unsubscribed and nothing more. Reply START within 90 days of opting out; after that, turn texting on again in Ops OS. Reply HELP for help, or email support@epiglass.ai.

What texts can and cannot do. Texts carry questions, answers, alerts, and receipt photos. A text cannot approve a change to your books; approvals happen only after signing in. We do not send account numbers, identity numbers, or passwords by text.

Carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and device.

How we handle your mobile number and messages is described in Section 8 of the [Privacy and Consumer Data Rights Policy](/privacy).
